This Sunday, February 21st, Blind Lady Ale House, aka: BLAH, will be a major contributor to a very worthy cause - “A Reason to Survive.” ARTS, a non-profit organization that benefits children between the ages of 3-18, helps less fortunate children who face many of life’s challenges. These children face such difficulties as homelessness, domestic violence, chronic illness, and/or severe physical, mental, emotional and behavioral disabilities. BLAH will donate 15% of their sales during their normal Sunday hours of operation: 11:30 am – midnight. BLAH is located at 3416 Adams Avenue in Normal Heights. For more information about BLAH, contact them at (619) 255-2491, or visit their website: www.blindladyalehouse.com
ARTS has a growing staff and dedicated volunteers who help these challenged children. This noble cause is run by individuals who understand the power of the arts to heal, inspire and empower people. Various forms of visual, performing and literary arts are offered at the Pat D’Arrigo ARTS Center, in Pt. Loma. This 7000 square foot facility has been home for ARTS since 2007, providing a performing arts space as well as studios for painting, mixed media and ceramics. For more information about the ARTS program, visit their website at: http://www.artsurvive.org/mission.php. In addition, the facility will lease available space for meetings, events, birthday parties, workshops and classes. For information about renting space, contact Carolyn Smyth at (619) 297-ARTS, x. 2003.
