Donations
Take for example the month of December (2009). Stone is sponsoring a “Holiday Food Drive” benefiting the North County Community Services Food Bank. At their brewery, they will be providing receiving buckets for food donations. And, to reward the generous donations of their patrons—every time a donation bucket is filled to capacity--Stone will tap a very special brew from their archives that will be available for growler fills.
I can think of no better excuse to enjoy a fresh Stone brew than to drop off a food or toy donation this holiday season. For more information see the Stone Brewing website at:

Book and a Beer
On Monday, November 30th at 6:00 p.m., enjoy a “Book and a Beer” with Woody Tasch, founder and author of “Slow Money”. Woody will speak about the concept of
“Slow Money” which is based upon the principles of community involvement and environmental responsibility. In his book, “Inquiries into the Nature of Slow Money”, Woody Tasch explains ways that we can promote "sustainable venture capitalism" by choosing where and how we spend our money.

Beer U
Monday, January 11, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Stone is hosting the class “Intro to Beer”. Stone’s website describes the class as “a great evening of beer tasting and discussion with Stone's resident beer evangelist and happy blabbermouth, Ken Wright.” Stone says you'll learn how brewers combine water, barley, hops and yeast to make something truly magical. “The 2-hour class provides an excellent introduction to the basics of craft brewing, and will explore many different styles and how they have come to be enjoyed today. “
